Experiencing Nature While Living in Boston

Some of us are so extremely lucky to live in places where we can go water skiing, rock climbing, snowboarding, hiking, and more. There are others of us who are living the city life-- far away from the beautiful Rocky Mountains of the West or the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This weekend is one in which I have had the pleasure in staying with a family in Germany. I am staying with a girl who was on my collegiate rowing team last year and who is going to be living in the same eight person dorm/apartment next year. Franconia Notch State Park

Franconia Notch State Park was once known as the home of New Hampshire's famous Old Man of the Mountain. One could see it driving northbound on Interstate 93. As most know, the Old Man of the Mountain collapsed back in 2003, but there are still plenty of worthwhile locations to visit in this beautiful area. Depending on the season, Franconia Notch State Park can be useful for the activities of which we, outdoors eagles, are fond: camping, swimming, hiking, picnicking, fishing, boating, biking, skiing/snowboarding, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling.
