I'd love to visit the dunes in the Indiana State Park. I've read that there are lots of activities that can be done here.

I think it's nice to bring your child in camps but I'd make sure if it's going to be during the appropriate age. I'm sure it's gonna be difficult to bring a months old baby for outdoor activities like this. I truly agree about your tips here and there should always be a balance between having fun and still taking the necessary precautions for the baby's safety.

Your article is full of inaccuracies.

1. The Cuyahoga has caught on fire more than once.

2. Surfing in Cleveland didn't start "within the last decade"- it has been around for several decades.

3. Plenty of ocean surfers wear wetsuits, even during the summer. Lake Erie is comparatively warm during the summer and fall, I was just out there the other day in nothing but swim trunks.

4. The winter climes of Cleveland aren't the only time you can surf here, just the most intense. You only need about 3ft waves to surf; don't fall for the Hollywood dramatizations.

5. It's simply untrue that "the Great Lakes do not warm up due to all of the melting ice and snow". It's 7:30pm on 8/30/11 and the current buoy reading is a surface temp of 76F.

Yours Truly,
A Lake Erie Surfer

P.S. Don't forget that "the tropical paradises" are full crowded beaches, long lines of surfers, surfers with inflated egos, jelly fish, sharks, and pollutants of their own!
