I have finally been able to get some awesome turns ins! Gosh, it only took until March for the snow to actually fall! The resorts have been doing a great job making the best out of what they have, but it just has not been as exciting and entertaining as previous years. Well, last weekend I got the chance to finally play all day in the glades. I have been able to get into them before, but the coverage was sketchy and well, now we had over two feet to play in!
While I was in the glades, I noticed

Learning to Ski Jump
by Jessica B. March 9th, 2012 | Winter Activities
I don’t know about you, but every time I watch the competitive ski jumpers, or pass one of those intimidating ski jumps, I start to wonder how you learn a sport like that. I wonder if I would ever have the courage to actually try something that would propel me at high speeds into the air on just a pair of wooden sticks.
I know, I know, that may be a bit dramatic, but after years of wondering about it, I finally decided to take a look at the potential of learning how to ski jump, and this is what

Skiing in Europe
by Jessica B. March 2nd, 2012 | Skiing
It’s March, and while it is getting late, it still isn't too late to schedule a skiing getaway to Europe while the peaks are still at their finest. Here are some not to miss hot spots where you can combine hitting the slopes with getting a little bit of culture.

Sugarloaf
by Bea February 14th, 2012 | Skiing
This weekend I was given the opportunity to head up to Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine. The last time that I had been there was over ten years ago, so I was pretty excited when my friend offered me an irresistible deal on a bus ride up and a two-night stay in a slopeside condo.
With snow, I think that Sugarloaf, or "the loaf," could be an awesome place. They are currently working on an expansion that could make my head turn once they finish up with it. They have Phase I done, and that by itself is already very enticing

Skiers, Give Snowboarding a Shot
by Jessica B. February 10th, 2012 | Winter Activities
Despite the growing popularity of snowboarding, it still feels like there is quite a divide between skiers and snowboarders. There has been a long rivalry between the sports, and while it takes time learn both, I still don't understand why more people don't give each a try. I say this mostly because I enjoy both, and I get sick and tired of finding myself in the middle of a "snowboarding is so much better" and "snowboarders are so damn reckless" debate.
What should skiers consider when trying out snowboarding?
