When you are packing your backpack for a camping trip, you have to be efficient. There is no sense in packing things in a way that limits the amount of space you have to use or increases the weight of the pack for no particular reason. It's also important to pack things in a way so that the things that you will need more frequently or earlier in the trip are more easily accessible.

Most people camp during the summertime because it is nice and warm. A lot of times people camp by a lake or an ocean so that they can enjoy the summer waters. However, spring camping can also be a really fun experience; you just have to make sure that you are properly prepared. The biggest concern that most people have with spring camping is that it is way too cold, but that is certainly a challenge that can be easily accepted.

Choosing a Campground on an Overnight Hike

Planning an overnight hiking trip? Do you know where you will be spending the night?
One time I was on an overnight hiking trip, and my group and I thought we knew exactly where we would be staying that night; it was marked clearly with an X on the map as a campground. Half an hour before sundown, we had walked two extra miles (going too far, then retracing our steps), and were still unable to find it. Luckily, we found our spot (a flat pine grove near the top of the mountain) with just enough time to set up
